Spool Obsession

I recently purchased some vintage spools. I love those babies and have been crafting away with them.

I have more and I'm not afraid to use them.

Halloween Happenings

I have a long time customer who collects skeletons. This year she wanted one to represent her husband so I made a khaki shorts wearing skellie. I made the other one for her son-he is a heavy metal drummer (in real life) so I hope she likes these.

And in other news I'm in another match box swap. This one is from JoAnne at vintagedragonfly.blogspot.com. I was JoAnne's partner for a previous matchbox swap and she is terrific.

Blast From the Past

When I was in elementary school I remember making art projects by wrapping a square of tissue paper on the end of a pencil and gluing it to paper. I always looked forward to these. I was in Michaels checking out the new Halloween stuff when I came across a kit like that. It comes with Pre cut tissue squares and a special tool to help the paper adhere. Quite a bit easier than it was in the old days.

So my daughter and I purchased the kits and a couple hours later there it is!

I would recommend this kit as it was only a dollar for a butt load of fun. Purchase an extra one because they don't give you enough squares to finish the project.

Swap Basket

This sweet basket was made by Dianne of Saturday Finds. The base is a recycled yogurt cup covered with vintage wall paper. It is trimmed with delicious crepe paper (love). The handle has a silver mercury glass bead and pretty forget me nots.

Take a look at the bottom of the basket. So pretty trimmed with pearls and teeny tiny flower.

Inside the basket was an array of tiny little pretties. A wooden bunny ornament, tiny chenille chick (I can never get enough of those guys), pretty speckled egg, glass bunny ornament, and a sheet of tiny stickers. I love all things petite and can't wait to use them next spring.

I have admired Dianne's decorated nut cups and baskets for some time now. At last I have one and it is so cute in person, the camera can't capture blues very well. Thank you for being such a sweet partner Dianne. I loved meeting you and making a new friend.

Swap Basket

This gorgeous basket was made by Miss Rhea of Sweet n shabby roses. Its base is a recycled yogurt cup. The basket is covered with pretty vintage wall paper, a variety of pretty laces and fluffy crepe paper (my favorite stuff in the world).

In addition to the basket Rhea also sent a darling rabbit with a crepe collar, a cute crackled egg on a vintage thread spool, the loveliest linen napkins in a cool cream color, and my favorite item a pretty china plate made into a wall hanging with a mirror, lovely roses and sparkly rhinestones.

Here is another shot of the basket and a bag filled with seam binding and vintage earrings in gorgeous neutral colors. And on that bag a sweet pair of pearl and rhinestone earrings. I guess I don't have to tell you she spoiled me rotten, and man I love being spoiled. Thank you Rhea for being an awesome partner. I can't until next year's swap.
