Shadowbox on the Large Side

It's true, Easter has been over for a while now but here is one last thing to share.  My daughter and I wanted to make a small Easter Village for the dining room table.  I thought we could get one of those fake green grass welcome mats to make our display on.  Well those things were nowhere to be found.  We tried just putting down some Easter grass, didn't like it.  And then I thought hey why not make scenes on a smallish wooden shelf I had.  It is kinda like a giant shadow box.  It is really cute in person- my camera stinks at indoor shots.  This is definitely something we will be doing again.  Next stop Halloween maybe?

Some more Swappin'

Well this is the last set of ornaments from my Easter swap.  Cassandra is the creator of these beauties.  First up is a sweet wall hanging with some chicks getting ready for Easter.
This next one is an adorable crepe paper basket with vintage flowers, bits & bobs and a yellow bird with a real feather tail.  Yes he's singing about spring.
Last and best is a paper clay chick. The chick is coming out of her egg wearing a lovely rose hat and holding a Happy Easter sign.  Such cute details on her face.
Thank you so much for being my partner Cassandra.  I love everything and can't wait to display it again next year.

Baby Shower

Here's a cute baby shower in some very unusual colors that look great together: yellows, orange, aqua.

 Cupcake toppers.
Look at those crepe paper flowers.

footnote:  this was the first time a customer sent me pictures of a party using my toppers--way back in 2008

Swap Goodies From Becs

I finally had some time to photograph my second set of ornaments from an Easter ornament swap.  This first ornament was made from a vintage chocolate mold or tart tin.  It has a sweet little girl and a paper rose.

The next ornament is a super sweet bluebird made from paper clay.  She has a crown of forget me nots and is attached to a vintage spool.

And lastly we have a gorgeous nest basket filled with lovely flowers and a sweet glittered bird.
These are all so adorable, I'm never taking them down.  See more of Becky here

Egg Carton Swap II

My next partner in the egg carton swap was Kathy.  Here is a peek of the gorgeous gifts inside the carton.  My glue gun is calling me to please start using them!

This is the inside of the carton.  That wee little chick is wearing a rhinestone crown.

And last and best, here is the outside of the carton.  That crepe paper rose has too many layers to even count.  So stunning.

Kathy thank you so much for being my swap partner, I love it all!

Egg Carton Swap

I was just in a swap where you decorate an egg carton for your partner and fill it with small treasures.  This is what I received from my partner Tammie.  Her carton is dripping with lace and two gorgeous vintage flowers, perfect for spring.

Here is a shot of the inside.

And lastly here are all the little treasures.  They are all so sweet.  Thank you so much for being my partner Tammie.  Everything is so beautiful.

Well, Here Ya Go

As you may have guessed, my dessert decorating skills could be better.  Just imagine that these have perfectly smooth ganache frosting with no lumps or drizzles.  The icing flowers are cuter than I imagined., and they were quite tasty warm from the oven with vanilla ice cream.

Mini Egg Cakes

I have had a Wilton mini egg pan for a couple of years now but have never used it.  I've thought about it, wanted to try it, but just didn't.
Then I found these darling icing flowers on etsy (will link below).
I decided I had to make those eggs.  In my mind they will look like this photo I found on Pinterest, except mine will be chocolate, with chocolate ganache mmmmmmm.
Stay tuned to see how they turned out.
