Pretty in Pink

Hannah is the sweetest little girl who just turned one.  Her mom, Lynn,  made the pretty in pink headband to match her birthday outfit. Lynn makes a variety of headbands and has them for sale in her etsy store.

This is my favorite one, I love the stripes.
And here is proof that sometimes you do need a little help from your friends. I think I'm gonna make a little cake so I can do this.  No Hands mom!

To see the rest of this party head on over to Lynn's bloghttp://www.lynnjasonzoeroberts.blogspot.com/2012/05/happy-1st-birthday-hannah-kate_14.html

Crepe Paper and Lace Cupcake Toppers

I am always on the lookout for affordable cupcakes.  I have an inability to frost them properly.  I just can't do it.  To buy them from the bakery they are $3.00 each.  OUCH!  I can afford them from the supermarket but they always have garish colors and sprinkles out the wazoo.
But today things changed.  I found affordable cupcakes at the supermarket in a tasteful color.  No neon sprinkles or tie dye pattern any where on them.  They were 10 for $6.00 and BONUS:  they taste great.  Win win win win.
So for fun I dressed them up with some toppers and had a party!  With myself.  Boo ya!

Shadowbox on the Large Side

It's true, Easter has been over for a while now but here is one last thing to share.  My daughter and I wanted to make a small Easter Village for the dining room table.  I thought we could get one of those fake green grass welcome mats to make our display on.  Well those things were nowhere to be found.  We tried just putting down some Easter grass, didn't like it.  And then I thought hey why not make scenes on a smallish wooden shelf I had.  It is kinda like a giant shadow box.  It is really cute in person- my camera stinks at indoor shots.  This is definitely something we will be doing again.  Next stop Halloween maybe?

Some more Swappin'

Well this is the last set of ornaments from my Easter swap.  Cassandra is the creator of these beauties.  First up is a sweet wall hanging with some chicks getting ready for Easter.
This next one is an adorable crepe paper basket with vintage flowers, bits & bobs and a yellow bird with a real feather tail.  Yes he's singing about spring.
Last and best is a paper clay chick. The chick is coming out of her egg wearing a lovely rose hat and holding a Happy Easter sign.  Such cute details on her face.
Thank you so much for being my partner Cassandra.  I love everything and can't wait to display it again next year.
